Training

All Shield of Faith Schools teach the art of Cha Yun-do as the primary discipline. Other martial arts may be introduced, with permission, for comparative purposes, but not taught as a standard. Further, no occult or Eastern philosophy teaching is allowed. All teaching is supported by scripture.

Students will be taught empty hand self-defense techniques and combinations to use for the defense of themselves or loved ones.  Shield of Faith Schools do not enter competitions or championships, however once a student attains the rank of orange belt, they are allowed to spar with the Instructor’s permission.  Sparring is a way to aid in the development of a student’s skills and putting their knowledge into practice. Students wishing to spar, should contact their instructor.

Shield of Faith – Troy

The Troy location has regular class on Thursday evenings at Faith Lutheran (37635 Dequindre Rd) from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm, with a kids class and family class.

The Berkley location has regular training class on Saturday mornings at Berkley Community Church (2855 Wiltshire Rd) from 10:30 am to noon.
